In the heart of ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ, a newly transformed space is helping people relax, recharge, and invest in themselves. Opened on May 26, 2026, ๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ป & ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฎ has quickly established itself as a destination for beauty, wellness, and self-care in Southeast Colorado.
Owned by longtime Southeast Colorado entrepreneur and community advocate ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ช๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ and managed by ๐๐๐ต๐น๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐น๐ด๐ผ๐๐ฎ, Summer Vibes Tan & Spa was created with a simple vision: provide high-quality wellness and beauty services locally so residents don't have to travel to larger cities to access them.
Located at 215 S. Main Street in Lamar, the business offers a wide variety of services under one roof, including UV tanning, spray tanning, full-body red light therapy, infrared sauna sessions, manicures, pedicures, facials, haircuts, tanning products, and natural peptide products. The team also plans to continue expanding its offerings as the business grows, creating even more opportunities for clients to focus on their health, wellness, and confidence.
What sets Summer Vibes apart is its commitment to creating a complete beauty and wellness experience rather than focusing on a single service. The recently renovated facility features multiple treatment rooms and carefully designed spaces that allow clients to unwind, recharge, and leave feeling their best.
"Our goal is to create a welcoming space where people can take a break from the demands of everyday life," Diana shared. "Everyone deserves access to quality self-care and wellness services, and we're excited to provide those opportunities right here in our community."
That community connection is a driving force behind the business. Diana chose to invest in Prowers County because it's home. Having spent years building businesses, supporting local organizations, and developing relationships throughout Southeast Colorado, she saw an opportunity to create something that would benefit both individuals and the broader community.
Like many new business owners, the journey wasn't without obstacles. One of the biggest challenges came during the renovation process, as coordinating construction schedules, contractors, and timelines often tested the team's patience and determination. Yet through every setback, they remained committed to bringing their vision to life.
Their greatest victory so far hasn't been a single milestone—it's been the ability to persevere through every challenge and continue moving forward.
"Starting a business is never easy, but every challenge has been worth it to see my vision become a reality," Diana said. "If there's one thing this journey has taught me, it's that perseverance, faith, and community support can accomplish amazing things."
Beyond serving clients, Summer Vibes is committed to supporting the community that supports them. The business actively encourages collaboration among local businesses, participates in community initiatives, and has partnered with Outlaw Faith, a nonprofit organization that assists women battling breast cancer. Their philosophy is rooted in integrity, kindness, and giving back whenever possible.
Diana also recognizes the mentors and supporters who have helped shape her journey. Inspired by hardworking entrepreneurs and community leaders who built businesses while serving others, she credits their encouragement, guidance, and example for helping her navigate the challenges of business ownership.
With a staff of five and plans to continue growing both services and membership offerings, Summer Vibes Tan & Spa is focused on creating lasting value for clients while contributing to the quality of life in Southeast Colorado. Their mission goes beyond beauty treatments and wellness services—it's about helping people feel confident, cared for, and connected.
As Diana looks toward the future, one thing remains clear: "We are excited about what the future holds and are grateful to everyone who has helped along the way."
For Summer Vibes Tan & Spa, success isn't just measured by appointments booked or services offered. It's measured by the confidence built, the relationships formed, and the positive impact made within the community they proudly call home.

Tacktical Training & Therapeutics

In Southeast Colorado, where agriculture, ranching, and livestock are a way of life, the health and well-being of animals isn’t just important—it’s essential. That’s where Tacktical Training and Therapeutics LLC, also known as ๐ง๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ ๐ง ๐๐๐, is carving out a unique and much-needed space in the region.
Owned and operated by Lamar Community College graduate ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ด๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป, Triple T officially launched in March 2025 with a mission to provide a balanced approach to animal care by blending traditional training methods with innovative and holistic therapeutic treatments.
The name itself reflects Heather’s background and passion. “Tacktical” is a play on the word “tactical,” tying into her deep roots in equine training and management, while “Triple T” represents the three pillars of her business: training, therapeutics, and trust.
As a fully mobile operation, Triple T brings its services directly to clients whether that’s in Prowers County or far beyond. Heather has already worked with clients from Colorado Springs to western Kansas and as far south as Amarillo, Texas, meeting animal owners where they are and providing flexible, appointment-based services tailored to their needs.
Triple T offers a range of specialized services, including horse training, equine deep grooming, and Pulse Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy—a non-invasive, drug-free treatment designed to reduce inflammation, manage pain, and accelerate healing at the cellular level. Notably, Heather is currently the only provider offering PEMF therapy for animals in the region, filling a significant gap in available services for local ranchers and animal owners.
While her primary focus is working with horses and livestock, Heather’s services extend to a wide range of animals, always with the goal of improving mobility, comfort, and overall health. She emphasizes that PEMF therapy works best alongside traditional veterinary care and often collaborates directly with clients’ veterinarians to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Heather’s journey into this work is deeply personal. After one of her own horses suffered a severe injury from a snake bite, her veterinarian initially recommended euthanasia. Instead, Heather pursued PEMF therapy—and the results were transformative. Her horse not only survived, but experienced significant healing and improved quality of life. That experience became the foundation for Triple T, inspiring Heather to bring these services to others facing similar challenges.
Like many start-up businesses, the early days came with challenges. From building a client base to managing the operational side of the business independently, Heather had to learn quickly and adapt. But those challenges have been met with meaningful victories including stronger-than-expected growth, new client relationships, and the opportunity to reinvest into her business and expand her capabilities.
Behind the business is a strong support system. Heather credits her boyfriend for helping fund early startup costs, her mother for assisting with marketing and business guidance, and her sister for supporting operations and traveling alongside her to promote the business. She also shares that her entire family continues to support her business by actively utilizing and purchasing her services. In addition, Heather recognizes mentors she’s connected with through the equine community, whose guidance continues to shape her growth.
A lifelong connection to animals has guided Heather every step of the way. Raised around horses and influenced by her mother’s background in barrel racing, she has always known this industry was where she belonged. After graduating from Lamar Community College in 2023 with a degree in Equine Training and Management, she returned to Lamar full-time to build a business rooted in both passion and purpose.
As Triple T continues to grow, Heather is already looking ahead expanding her education through Angels’ Animals to broaden her therapeutic offerings and increasing availability as demand rises. She also remains committed to giving back, supporting local events and organizations while using her platform to educate the community on animal care and management.
At its core, Tacktical Training & Therapeutics is about more than services—it’s about providing options, improving outcomes, and helping animal owners feel confident in the care they provide.
Because in a region built on hard work and strong values, taking care of the animals that support that way of life matters—and Triple T is helping lead that charge.

KAYLEIGH AESTHETICS
๐โ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐
โ
In a region where long days, hard work, and high-stress lifestyles are the norm, finding time to truly relax can be difficult. That’s exactly where Kayleigh Aesthetics is making its impact in Downtown Lamar by offering a space where clients can slow down, unwind, and take care of themselves both physically and mentally.
โ
Owned and operated by Kayleigh Beakley, Kayleigh Aesthetics officially opened its doors on January 20th, 2026. Located at 215 S. Main Street in Lamar, Kayleigh is bringing specialized skincare services and a calming, personalized experience to Southeast Colorado. Her studio is designed to be more than just a place for facials, but also a space where clients can feel comfortable, confident, and cared for from the moment they walk in.
โ
Kayleigh’s approach to skincare is rooted in customization and connection. Every service is tailored to the individual, addressing concerns such as acne, sensitive skin, aging, and overall skin health. But beyond the technical side of skincare, what truly sets her business apart is the environment she has created. Many clients find themselves so relaxed during appointments that they fall asleep, standing as a testament to the calming, one-on-one experience Kayleigh prioritizes.
โ
Originally from Thornton, Colorado, Kayleigh moved to Southeast Colorado with her husband in 2022. After spending more than four years working in aesthetics, she realized her true passion wasn’t makeup—it was helping people find real solutions for their skin. Recognizing a gap in services locally, she saw an opportunity to bring something new to the area: accessible, results-driven skincare in a welcoming and judgment-free environment.
โ
That judgment-free approach is central to everything she does. Kayleigh understands that skincare can be personal, and sometimes even vulnerable. Her goal is to ensure every client feels safe, respected, and confident while working toward healthier skin no matter their background or experience.
โ
Like many start-up businesses, the early stages came with challenges. Nearly 80% of her clients had never experienced professional skincare services before, which meant a strong focus on education and outreach. But those challenges quickly turned into victories. Since opening, Kayleigh has been busier than expected, a clear sign that the demand for these services exists locally. She also credits the overwhelming support from the community as a major factor in her early success.
โ
Behind the scenes, Kayleigh credits her support system for helping her take the leap into business ownership. Her husband, Jakob Beakley, has been a constant source of encouragement, supporting both her entrepreneurial journey and her passion for drag racing—something she pursues outside of the studio. Her family, along with her in-laws, have also played a key role by offering guidance, advice, and steady support along the way.
โ
As the business continues to grow, Kayleigh is already looking ahead. Plans are in place to expand services to include lash lifts, tints, and body contouring thus further enhancing the range of offerings available to local clients.
โ
At its core, Kayleigh Aesthetics is about more than skincare. It’s about providing a space where people can step away from the stress of daily life and invest in themselves. In a community built on hard work and resilience, that kind of care is not just appreciated but also very much needed.

True Burger Food Truck
๐พ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐ก ๐๐๐๐๐๐. ๐พ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐ก ๐ฝ๐ข๐๐๐ฆ.
โ
Parked outside A&B Liquor at ๐ด๐ฌ๐ฐ ๐. ๐ข๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ, True Burger is building a loyal following; one half-pound smash burger at a time. Owned and operated by ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ป, the food truck launched in September 2025 with a clear mission: serve the best burger in Southeast Colorado.
โ
Sy grew up in Holly, CO helping his mom cook at the Holly Nursing Home when he was just a kid. From those early kitchen days, he knew he wanted to be a chef. After running restaurants in Coolidge and Holly, he set sights on Lamar. And while he still owns the restaurant in Coolidge, Sy chose the food truck route for True Burger due to its mobility, lower overheads, and the freedom to focus entirely on quality.
โ
True Burger follows the K.I.S.S. method — Keep It Simple, Stupid. Instead of a complex menu, Sy puts 100% of his energy into hand-ground, half-pound smash burgers made with two quarter-pound patties and served with hand-battered fries. The regular menu features ten burger variations with customizations welcome, along with new additions like a ground ribeye upgrade ($5), a Build-Your-Own-Burger option, and online ordering coming soon. Each order also includes disposable food-safe gloves, because as Sy says, “...napkins don’t stand a chance when a burger is this juicy.”
โ
Sy works alongside his friend and right-hand-man Zxavier Martinez. With just two employees, both handle cooking, cleaning, food prep, and register duties interchangeably while Sy manages ordering and backend operations. Produce is sourced locally when possible from Farmer’s Country Market and the soon-to-open Prowers County Market, reinforcing True Burger’s commitment to supporting the region.
โ
Early victories include establishing a strong base of regular customers, earning positive reviews from locals and regional food critique The Kansas Gastronomist, and receiving mentorship from Gary Melcher of Gary’s BBQ, Kolby Brubacher of A&B Liquor, his brother-in-law Joel Yoder, and his father-in-law Dave Tecklenburg who have all provided him with both business advice and opportunity. At home, Sy is supported by his wife Jessie and their four children, who attend school in Granada.
โ
When asked about community involvement, Sy keeps it straightforward: keep your head down, reinvest in the business, and let the work speak for itself. He stays clear of social media noise and focuses on serving beef lovers, burger fanatics, and anyone craving a seriously good smash-style burger.
โ
True Burger operates Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with event appearances posted on social media. Outside of regular business hours, the truck is mobile and available for special events across the region. And for those ready to try it, mention Prowers Economic Prosperity before March 31st to receive $1 off each burger without limitation.
โ
In a world of complicated menus and endless options, True Burger proves that sometimes the best recipe is the simplest one: quality beef, hot fries, hard work, and a whole lot of heart.

Access to quality healthcare looks different in rural communities and ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ช๐ถ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป is helping close an important gap in Southeast Colorado. Founded in September 2025 by ๐๐ผ๐๐น๐ถ๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป, a Registered Dental Hygienist, Rooted Within is an independently owned dental hygiene clinic focused on preventative care, education, and patient comfort.
Rooted Within offers a welcoming, patient-centered alternative to traditional dental settings. Joslin provides adult and child cleanings, periodontal therapy and maintenance, X-rays, and fluoride treatments, all with an emphasis on helping patients take an active role in their oral and overall health.
โ
What makes Rooted Within unique is its preventative, education-first approach. Rather than rushing appointments, Joslin prioritizes time with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and reducing anxiety—especially for those who may feel uneasy in conventional dental offices.
โ
Her ideal patient population includes individuals seeking high-quality preventive care in a transparent and affordable setting, including those with or without dental insurance, patients who value clear communication and education, and anyone looking for a more personalized, patient-centered approach to oral health.
โ
“Quality oral care should be simple and accessible,” Joslin says. “My goal is to make preventive care easy, comfortable, and stress-free, while helping patients understand how the oral cavity is closely connected to overall health, no matter if someone has dental insurance or not”
โ
Rooted Within is especially impactful in Southeast Colorado, where limited providers and long travel distances often mean routine dental care is delayed or skipped altogether. By offering an independent hygiene clinic locally, Joslin is helping ensure families in the region have consistent access to preventative oral health services close to home.
โ
Joslin’s inspiration for opening Rooted Within came from a desire to serve the area she grew up around. Born in Southeast Colorado and raised in Las Animas, she graduated from Colby Community College’s Dental Hygiene program in 2022.
โ
Early victories have reinforced the clinic’s mission. One of the most meaningful was the opportunity to open an office locally, made possible by Shelby Casper, owner and Family Nurse Practitioner at County Line Health Clinic. Joslin has also quickly built strong relationships with patients, establishing a steady and growing client base.
โ
Support from family, particularly her parents J.D. and Brenda Martin, along with close friend Natasha Thompson has played a significant role in helping Joslin navigate the early stages of business ownership with confidence and resilience.
โ
Rooted Within operates by appointment only. Call or text (719)928-1888 to get scheduled. As the clinic continues to grow, Joslin remains focused on one simple goal—making preventative oral health care more accessible for Southeast Colorado

A new locally driven retail concept is adding energy and opportunity to downtown Lamar. ๐ง๐ถ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ & ๐ง๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ผ๐ฝ, which officially opened on December 4th, 2025, is now welcoming shoppers at ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฏ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ with a thoughtfully curated selection of gifts, custom merchandise, and community-focused products.
โ
Managed by Vickie Neuhold and Sandy Summers, Timber & Twine was created with a clear goal: activate a Main Street storefront while offering locally meaningful products that celebrate schools, teams, and community pride. The shop is operated by a team of five dedicated volunteers who handle day-to-day operations, customer support, and inventory management.
โ
Inside the shop, customers will find a rotating mix of gift items alongside customizable merchandise including tumblers, apparel, license plates, and more designed to support and represent local school teams and community groups. In addition to ready-to-purchase items, Timber & Twine also offers custom orders, making it an option for personalized gifts and promotional items.
โ
In addition to its curated retail offerings, Timber & Twine now provides made-to-order products for individuals, schools, organizations, and businesses. Using modern engraving technology, the shop can create personalized wood, glassware, leather goods, acrylic pieces, metal items, décor, keepsakes, and branded gifts. This capability allows Timber & Twine to deliver high-quality, locally produced, one-of-a-kind items which are perfect for gifts, special occasions, recognition pieces, and community events while keeping customization and production rooted right here in Lamar.
โ
Timber & Twine is in a shared Main Street building that also houses Modern Day Healthcare and the Church of Christ, creating a unique example of how multiple services can coexist in a single downtown space. For appointments at Modern Day Healthcare, call 605-250-1200. While each operation functions independently, this collaborative space was created to meet the needs of the Lamar community through retail offerings, spiritual care, and accessible primary healthcare – all grounded in shared values of faith, family, and service.
โ
Gift shop managers Vickie Neuhold and Sandy Summers were born and raised in Lamar, graduated from Holly High School, and are members of the Church of Christ. Opening Timber & Twine was also a response to local calls for Main Street activation and reuse of historic storefronts, helping strengthen foot traffic and retail diversity downtown.
โ
Early momentum has been encouraging, with steady community support and positive feedback from residents looking for local retail shopping options. Success has been marked by strong support from the City of Lamar, Mayor Kirk Crespin, and loyal customers. While maintaining a historic building presents challenges, the commitment to serving Southeast Colorado remains steadfast.
โ
At its core, Timber & Twine exists to support local infrastructure, schools, youth activities, and community organizations, while providing a welcoming retail space that encourages residents to shop local first.
โ
Whether you’re looking for a unique gift, customized school-spirit gear, or a reason to stroll Main Street, Timber & Twine Gift Shop is helping write the next chapter of downtown Lamar—one thoughtfully chosen item at a time.

Just in time for winter wellness season, a new kind of healing space has opened its doors in downtown Lamar. ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฆ, founded by licensed massage therapist ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ “๐๐๐ฒ” ๐๐จ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ณ, officially opened its doors on November 7th, 2025 at ๐๐๐ ½ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐๐ญ, tucked comfortably between Home & Season and Main Street Shoppe.
โ
After spending years developing a deep toolbox of therapeutic techniques from relaxation-based services to medically oriented muscle recovery, Jay is bringing a modern, results-driven approach to massage therapy to Southeast Colorado. Joined by fellow licensed therapist Alexander “Xander” Amaya, The Om offers a down-to-earth environment grounded in knowledge, compassion, and whole-body well-being.
โ
The Om specializes in a wide variety of services, including Swedish Relaxation, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Massage, as well as Sports-focused Pre/Post Workout therapies, Assisted Stretching with personalized at-home recovery exercises, heated bamboo muscle rolling, Gua-Sha scraping, cupping, and multiple add-on options such as CBD-infused therapies, Himalayan salt stone treatments, hot stone work, and more. Their approach is simple but powerful: improve mobility, reduce tension, restore circulation, and help clients build long-term, sustainable wellness habits.
โ
What makes The Om particularly unique is Jay’s commitment to practicing what he teaches. A lifelong athlete and calisthenics fan, he deeply understands movement, posture, strain, and recovery. “The body tells the truth,” He says. “When you take care of it, everything else gets easier.”
โ
Before opening his brick-and-mortar studio, The Om built a local reputation through pop-up massage events which gave the community an early glimpse of his skill and therapeutic style. With the new Main Street location, those services continue, but now clients have a dedicated space designed for calm, comfort, and healing. The Om still happily attends local events that want to boost attendance with on-site massage services.
โ
Jay’s philosophy is rooted in empowerment. Many of his clients are farmers, ranchers, blue-collar workers, and athletes who used to believe massage “wasn’t for them.” But after experiencing targeted muscle therapy, many have become regulars. “Sometimes the biggest win is getting someone out of their shell,” Jay says. “Once they realize how much better they can feel, they keep coming back.”
โ
His personal journey makes The Om feel all the more authentic. Born and raised in Florida, Jay moved to Lamar in 2023, bringing his three pets and his lifelong love for health, movement, and sports. Xander—his friend, employee, and fellow therapist—played a pivotal role in convincing Jay to transfer his massage license to Colorado. Together, they’ve created a space that blends professionalism, warmth, and a shared passion for helping others feel better.
โ
Jay credits his previous employers for shaping him into the practitioner he is today, and he appreciates every friend, family member, and client who encouraged him to take the leap into business ownership. Early victories include building a loyal client base and transitioning from pop-up operations to a full studio. Challenges, he says, mostly involve helping people overcome hesitation or lack of confidence—something he enjoys guiding clients through.
โ
His favorite quote, one that shapes his entire practice, comes from Shaolin Master Shi Heng Yi: “When your body is healthy, you have many problems. When your body isn’t healthy, you have one.” The meaning is simple: when health suffers, everything else becomes secondary. The Om aims to give clients their health—and their energy—back.
โ
As The Om grows, Jay plans to introduce sound and meditation therapy, facial massage with aromatherapy, and customized therapy packages, along with future memberships and gift card options.
โ
Whether you need pain relief, stress reduction, improved mobility, or a customized recovery plan, The Om is bringing a new level of wellness and body awareness to Southeast Colorado!

When it comes to hauling away the stuff you don’t want to deal with, one name is quickly making its mark across Southeast Colorado: Jake The Junk Guy
โ
Founded in December 2024 by Jake Neuhold, this Lamar-based start-up tackles the jobs most folks would rather avoid like old furniture, garage clutter, storm debris, and yard waste. If it’s junk, Jake’s your guy.
โ
Operating throughout the Arkansas Valley, Colorado’s Eastern Plains, and into Western Kansas, Jake the Junk Guy offers a much-needed service that’s been missing from the region. “There really aren’t many full-time junk removal options out here,” Jake explains. “I saw a need, took a chance, and decided to fill the niche.”
โ
Jake handles it all himself from scheduling, hauling, cleanup, and back-end business operations. He’s the definition of a one-man crew. And while he hopes to add a couple of employees as business grows, for now, he’s proud to be the boots on the ground helping his neighbors reclaim their space. Services include junk removal of all kinds, plus landscape and exterior cleanup, gutter and leaf removal, and plant-bed winter clear outs. The only exception? Coolant-based appliances like refrigerators and freezers, which must be serviced by a professional before Jake can haul them away.
โ
What sets Jake apart is his reliability, range, and community-driven attitude. His work is especially helpful for seniors who can’t handle heavy lifting or outdoor cleanup on their own. “It feels good to make life easier for people,” Jake says. “Sometimes it’s more than just removing junk—it’s helping someone start fresh.”
โ
Beyond hard work, Jake’s motivation comes from family. After years away, he and his wife Angie moved their family back to Lamar to give their three kids the small-town life they grew up loving. “This community has always felt like family,” Jake says. “That’s what we missed most—and that’s what brought us home.” Angie has been his biggest supporter, cheering him on through the ups and downs of business ownership. Jake also credits his brother, Matt Neuhold, for helping him get the business licensed and off the ground.
โ
As a certified welder, Jake still takes on the occasional welding project, but his main focus now is growing his junk removal services. He’s already planning to expand into bulk delivery (gravel, mulch, etc.) and trailer rentals as his equipment fleet grows.
โ
Through the end of the year, Jake the Junk Guy is offering free consultations and quotes, helping residents and businesses clean up before winter sets in.
โ
So, whether you’re clearing out a shed, tidying up after a renovation, or just tired of looking at that mystery pile in your backyard—Jake the Junk Guy has got your back!

In Southeast Colorado, where the wide-open plains meet hardworking hands, a new business is transforming brown patches into green dreams—one spray at a time. ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ค ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐, founded by ๐๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ and based in Lamar, officially opened for business in 2025 after a year of careful planning and market research. The idea took root when Draven, who also works at Wiley School District, realized how hard it was to find a hydroseeding company willing to travel this far east. The cost of mobilization from the Front Range was too high, and the need
was going unmet. So, he rolled up his sleeves and decided to fill the gap himself.
โ
Colorado Quick Turf offers hydroseeding services, lawn installations, erosion control, and landscaping reclamation. Hydroseeding—a blend of custom grass seed, soil amendments, and fertilizer—is sprayed onto prepared land, offering customers a fast, cost-efficient, and highly effective way to establish or restore a lawn. It's a game-changer for Southeast Colorado, especially when you consider that most similar services are located hours away. Draven takes pride in offering a start-to-finish approach: from yard prep to seed application to maintenance follow-up, he ensures that clients get both results and reliability. And he’s not stopping there. The business plans to expand into sprinkler system installation and maintenance, as well as sod installation and cleanup services, all as part of a long-term vision that centers around curb appeal, customer service, and community beautification.
โ
As a startup still in its early stages, Colorado Quick Turf is a lean operation—Draven is the full-time operator, assisted by a part-time employee. Yet, the passion behind the work is anything but small. Draven credits his progress to a few key mentors, especially Dale Specht, who helped walk him through the steps of starting and growing the business. He also points to his wife, whose unwavering support has helped him weather the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
โ
Operating by appointment from February through November, Colorado Quick Turf is already making its mark—not just in lawns, but in community spirit. Draven is committed to being a positive force in Southeast Colorado. He believes in the power of positivity, stays professional in all his public interactions, and sponsors local sports teams, events, and golf tournaments as part of his philosophy of giving back. In his words, “In a rural community, your name is everything. I take pride in being reliable, respectful, and rooted in the values that matter here.”
โ
Draven hopes people across Southeast Colorado will take a chance on this homegrown business. Hydroseeding is still a new concept to many, but the results speak for themselves. As lawns across the region begin to bloom with new life, Colorado Quick Turf stands ready to serve—whether you’re starting fresh or looking to bring your lawn back to life. With professionalism, purpose, and a whole lot of passion, Draven Adame is laying the groundwork for a greener SECO—one lawn at a time.

This fall, a brand-new slice of magic is blooming just outside of Holly, Colorado. ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ก ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐, founded by ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆ, is Southeast Colorado’s newest Agri-tourism destination – where pumpkins, corn mazes, hayrides, and homemade memories come together in one charming, family-built experience.
โ
After dreaming and planning throughout 2024, the Tatum's officially open their gates this October, offering something the region hasn’t seen in years: a true pumpkin patch experience, complete with a hand-planted field, a hand-crafted corn maze, bounce houses, a corn pit for kids (yes, a sandbox but filled with corn!), hayrides, and a vibrant picture patch blooming with multicolored zinnias and custom-painted signs.
โ
“We’re selling more than pumpkins; we’re selling memories,” says Gayle. “We wanted to bring back the kind of Fall fun we remembered from our childhood, so today’s kids can feel that magic too.”
Little Patch on the Prairie will be open Fridays through Sundays all October long. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10AM to 6PM, and Sundays Noon to 4PM. They will also be holding a special Halloween evening on October 31st from Noon to 11PM.
โ
Admission is $15 per person (kids 4 and under are just $7), and each ticket includes access to all attractions plus a pumpkin to take home. No hidden fees. Just affordable, old-fashioned fun.
โ
In addition to the attractions, the Tatum's will offer homemade baked goods, concessions, and aim to have local food trucks and pop-up vendors on site each weekend to bring even more flavor and variety to the experience. They hope to collaborate with other small producers and farms in the region to build something special: not just for this year, but for seasons to come.
โ
What makes Little Patch on the Prairie especially meaningful is how deeply personal it is. Every sign, every seed, every detail was planted, painted, and placed by hand. Gayle and Clay built this business with help from their family – parents, kids, neighbors, and friends – pouring every free minute outside their day jobs into making it real.
โ
“This is for the community,” Clay says. “It’s made by people who love this place, and it’s meant to bring joy to the people who live here.”
โ
Whether you're 4 or 94, Little Patch on the Prairie invites you to celebrate the season with laughter, connection, and a whole lot of homegrown charm. Gayle and Clay Tatum are excited to share the same joy and wonder they cherished as kids—now brought to life for a new generation through handcrafted experiences, heartfelt hospitality, and a strong sense of community. This season marks the beginning of what they hope becomes a beloved fall tradition in Southeast Colorado, and they’re planting the seeds for something special that will continue to grow for years to come!

For ๐๐ข๐๐ก๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ, turning wrenches isn’t just a job but a way to serve the community he calls home. On July 1, 2025, Michael opened the doors of ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ at 900 South 13th Street in Lamar, bringing a fresh commitment to honest, reliable, and affordable automotive service to Prowers County.
โ
Specializing in diesel truck repair with full-service capabilities for all vehicles, Bellomy Automotive is quickly earning a reputation for integrity and hometown pride. “I just want to help people get back on the road without breaking the bank,” Michael shared. His shop caters to farmers, ranchers, diesel pickup owners, and anyone who’s felt taken advantage of by past repair experiences.
โ
Starting a new business hasn’t been without its challenges. Building a customer base and getting his name out into the community has been a hurdle. But early victories—like earning larger repair jobs and servicing fleet vehicles for local businesses—show that Michael’s approach is resonating.
โ
Beyond turning wrenches, Michael’s vision for Bellomy Automotive includes giving back. He plans to start a monthly program to provide free vehicle service or repair to a local resident and hopes to eventually donate to local emergency services as his business grows.
โ
With deep local roots spanning over 60 years, Michael is proud to invest his time and talents back into the community he calls home. His philosophy is simple: bring honesty, integrity, and local pride to every repair.
โ
Bellomy Automotive is open Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM—though Michael jokes that he “works every day and every hour.”
